I spent hours more that expected starting the development of a new Facebook application that runs over CodeIgniter. I read A LOT, checked for solutions, and read a little bit more. At the end I was kind of frustrated about the result. So I decided to start it from the scratch and use only the code if found under few sites as guide. Here’s the result.

Whether you’re building a full-fledged Content Management System or a simple to-do list application, if you have multiple users logging in you’re going to eventually want to prevent some of them from accessing certain areas. My recommendation is to use roles (admin, content provider, member, guest, etc.) to do this, luckily this is very easy in CodeIgniter.
